"The Spirit of a Man Will Sustain His Infirmity"........

Proverbs 18:14 "The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity, but a wounded spirit who can bear?"

As I think back on the past few years this verse of scripture has become more than a reality to me. We never quite know how we will react to the difficult times of life until we have to face them. Our faith is a powerful force that always kicks in when the devil tries to stir us up. Our faith in Jesus and His amazing ability to forgive, heal, save and deliver is the fuel for our spirits. We are always able to rise to the difficult occasions of life if we allow our faith to fly, and if we allow our spirits to soar.

Physically and emotionally life can wear at us like the crashing waves on a desolate shore, but when we allow our faith to take wing, those same thunderous waves become the gentle surf that comforts and soothes. What began as my toughest struggle in life (Stage 4 Lymphoma) has now become source of healing power and glory to our Lord and Savior.

We have seen God move miraculously in these past years. Not only in my physical body but also in the body known as His church. As I criss-cross America with this message of hope, I see those who have almost given up or given in, being stirred up and trusting more on the Lord. We must never think ourselves too feeble, too old, too young, too ill equipped or too sick or past our prime for the next challenge life throws at us. I think of Caleb, the Israelite spy, who along with Joshua encouraged Moses to take the promised land. And then I read of his spirit some 40 years later when the giants of Anakim still possessed the mountain of Hebron inside that promised land. Joshua 14:11-13 states "As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance."

We are told in Numbers 14:24 the reason why he would eventually possess the land (and Hebron) "But my servant Caleb, he had another spirit with him....". That other spirit is the quickening of our faith, but the Holy Ghost, in the sustaining, and the overcoming power of the Lord. It brings us right back to the verse we started with: "The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?" Proverbs 18:14. I want to thank each and every one of you who have prayed for me and supported this ministry. I thank God for you often. Without your support we could never reach as many as we reach. Without your prayers I would never have had my spirit encouraged to go on. Only eternity will reveal how much you have done - when we receive our rewards. But my purpose in writing to you is to now encourage YOU! I know life has many struggles and can be filled with the terror of the unknown. But know this "YOUR SPIRIT WILL SUSTAIN YOU", because you believe in a God who is bigger than life and greater than any difficulty you may encounter. I want to join with you and believe in faith for any mountain you may be encountering. And I want to declare your victory as we continue to petition the Lord to "GIVE US THIS MOUNTAIN." Thank you again for all you do to allow MCM to bring the Good News to others. You are my inspiration. May God continue to bless you and your family!

In His Service,

Pastor Mark
